GNCEM operates nine traditional day schools. Many of the children who attend are sponsored internationally or through GNCEM. The students receive a quality, Christian education and most locations serve lunch to the children. For many students, this is the only reliable meal of the day. A church, often led by teachers and other GNCEM staff, meets at each school location on a weekly basis. GNCEM day schools are located in several neighborhoods around Kolkata as well as a few surrounding villages.
The St. Johns schools offer English primary education in four locations. This for-profit branch of GNCEM exists on the sites of several of their ministry schools with two independents locations as well. Although St. Johns schools charge tuition, these rates are reasonable. All teachers are fluent in English. The St. Johns schools increase the visibility and reputation of GNCEM in the community.
The Baby Care Center reaches between 12-20 babies and toddlers daily. These children live in the slums of Kolkata. They are bussed in daily, bathed, fed, taught, and cared for in a safe, loving environment.
Two mobile schools reach children living in the slums of Kolkata. These children are bussed in each morning then bathed and educated. GNCEM also provides two meals a day for these students. While the children are in school, their parents have the opportunity to seek employment.
GNCEM runs two hostels, one for boys and one for girls. These are specifically designed for children who attended and aged out of the mobile schools. Most children living in these hostels are orphans or come for single parent homes. The children live in a loving, safe environment through the eighth grade.
GNCEM offers Teacher's Training for those individual interested in teaching with the ministry as well as Montessori Teachers Course for St. Johns school teachers.
Logos Theological Seminary was started in 2008. It offers a comprehensive three year bachelor of theology program to students interested in ministry. In addition, the Logos Academy offers a year long theology certification training program.
Good News has long been committed to providing basic medical care for our students. In 2016, we expanded this mission to include a new hospital. This facility will provide basic care for the community and specialize in prenatal care. In addition, a clinic is under construction to serve two additional neighborhoods already reached by GNCEM schools.
